Hey, I’m Nicola, the creator behind Silk Jasmine. I’m 48 years old and have two children - my daughter Jasmine (where the business name was inspired from) and my son Josh.

During the day I work as a coordinator in the academic centre for Cambridge University. Before that I was a cover teacher and emotional literacy advisor in a local primary school.  I love my job, but have always wanted my own business and have dabbled in various different projects over the years. I also have a love for anything skincare, makeup and health and well-being as I worked as a beauty therapist for over ten years before I had my children.

So, why did I create this brand? Around 15 years ago I bought a sewing machine because I was sick of paying so much to have my clothes turned up (I’m only 5ft 2!) This soon grew into me making my own clothes. During the first lockdown of 2020 I dusted the sewing machine off and fell back in love with it whilst making first scrubs, for our local hospital and then masks for friends and family. I started to play around with hair bands to start with and then after reading about the huge benefits of silk for the hair and skin, Silk Jasmine was born.
