Eye Pillow Benefits For Stress And Sleep

Silk Jasmine have just launched their aromatherapy eye pillow! The insert to this eye pillow is made from 100% unbleached cotton and weighted perfectly with organic lavender and food grade flaxseed to ensure just the right amount of acupressure to help revitalise your vision. And of course, just like all our other Silk Jasmine accessories, the pillowcase itself is handcrafted in Cambridge from grade A Mulberry Silk and finished with French seams just like our full sized silk pillowcases -  But a lavender eye pillow can do so much more than soothe tired...

What Does An Eye Pillow Do?

Well, in a nutshell, an eye pillow encourages you to take just ten minutes out of your day for you. If you find it hard to switch off at the end of a busy day; you feel stressed or find it hard to get off to sleep, then this is for you. The weighted eye pillow applies a gentle and comforting pressure on the eyelids and because of the long length of the pillow; the temples too. This acupressure stimulates the vagus nerve, which sends calming signals down the back of the neck, to the shoulders, chest, heart and stomach giving your mind and body the permission to relax.

The removal of light; the warming pressure and the subtle scent of lavender,  brings an instant calming and comforting experience, allowing a much deeper relaxation.

How to use your Silk Aromatherapy Eye Pillow

First, simply remove the insert from the silk pillowcase and pop it in either the microwave to warm or the freezer to cool. Then place back in the pillowcase. Now get comfy, maybe putting on a guided meditation or some relaxing music and lie the lavender eye pillow over the eyes for between 5-10 minutes.

Warm in the microwave for:

tension headaches
eye strain
dry eyes
sore eyes
tired and achy joints
    Cool in the freezer to:

reduce puffy eyes and the swelling of dark circles
    reduce swollen joints

    • Great article! Do you do eye pillows without lavender? I’m allergic and struggle to find alternatives.
